Here’s a quick look at some York County golfers who scored some significant victories recently:

Alex Hofstrand is getting his golfing summer off to a solid start.

Competing in the York County Junior Golf Association tournament at Bon Air Country Club on June 25, Hofstrand posted a round of 74 to win the ages 15-18 boys’ blue division by three shots over both Collin Potter and Nick Geiman.

It was the second victory of the tour for Hofstrand, who won the season-opening event at Royal Manchester Golf Links a week earlier.

Potter took second place via the YCJGA’s tiebreaker.

In the girls’ competition, South Western graduate Jessica Weaver, who won the tour’s opener at Royal Manchester Golf Links, took second place on Monday with a round of 94. She lost by one shot to Julianne Lee, who had placed third at Royal Manchester.

In other divisions, Conner Bacha, the runner-up at Royal Manchester, took the ages
14-and-under division with a round of 76 to win by four shots over Andrew Davis.

In the ages 15-18 boys’ white division, Ben Gates shot 87 to win by one stroke over Kyle Williams and James Davis.

The tour will visit Hanover Country Club in Abbottstown on Monday.

York Catholic High School held its 22nd Annual Golf Tournament June 22 at Heritage Hills Golf Resort.  Proceeds from the tournament benefited the York Catholic Tuition Assistance Fund.

John Flinchbaugh, Mac Jones, Alex Shorb and George Shorb comprised the winning group in the open division.

Donna Bankos, Kevin Bankos, Cheryl Land and Mike Land took the Mixed Division title.

Don Hoyt, But Moeller, Joe Rice and Ed Wagman were the winners in the Senior Division.

Super Seniors Division: Frank Comer, Gaylord Cumberledge, Don Reihart, Gary Reihart

The following golfers won skills contests at the event. Longest Drive: Tom Luckman (male), Donna Bankos (female); Longest Putt: Dennis Seufert; Closest to the Pin: Jon Bubb, Chris Martello and George Shorb.

Wayne Jacobs won the Briarwood East Senior Championship on June 24.

Jacobs edged runner-up Rick Hoke on the third playoff hole.
